Region 4—Trans4ming Education

In December, a devastating tornado left Walt Disney Elementary in Alvin, Texas, unusable. But thanks to the support of Region 4 and the remarkable resilience of the Alvin ISD community, the school is thriving once more. Together, we transformed adversity into hope.

For eight-year-old Cayla Reed, a trip to the zoo usually means auditory overload. The booming calls of animals, the constant hum of crowds, and the echoing presentations over tiny speakers all collide into a chaotic jumble she struggles to interpret.

Region 4 Education Service Center (Region 4) and Sam Houston State University (SHSU) officially announced a historic partnership at the McKinney Conference Center on February 28, 2025. The event marked a significant step in advancing crisis preparedness and response training for school leaders and law enforcement professionals.
