National Board Certification

Teachers can earn the designation of Recognized for TIA if they become a National Board Certificated Teacher (NBCT). National Board Certification (NBC) was designed to develop, retain, and recognize accomplished teachers and to generate ongoing improvement in schools nationwide. It is the most respected professional certification available in education and provides numerous benefits to teachers, students, and schools.

Our team offers programs to support candidates to earn NBC. One of these supports includes a Pre-Candidacy Academy which includes courses that prepare educators for what to expect for the process and develop a mindset shift necessary for NBC success. The Region 4 National Board Candidate Cohort (R4NBC2) provides candidates with a mentor, professional learning, and other imperative resources for success to become an NBC teacher. Additionally, stand-alone professional development opportunities are available for candidates that are not a part of the cohort but desire assistance while pursuing certification. These can be found on the Region 4 website as they become available.  Please use the service request form or send us an e-mail to discuss how we can support you on your journey to becoming a National Board Certified Teacher.
