Uniform Guidance Training Announced

On December 26, 2014, new regulations known as the Uniform Guidance went into effect for all federal agencies that award grants, including the US Department of Education (USDE). Refer to the Uniform Guidance page of the TEA website for details on the new regulations.

The Uniform Guidance governs all federal grants awarded by USDE to the state on or after December 26, 2014. To prepare you for the changes you will encounter in administering your 2015–2016 grants, TEA has scheduled the following Uniform Guidance training and information sessions.
Education Service Center Cluster Site Trainings
In March and April 2015, TEA will hold cluster site trainings at selected education service centers (ESCs) throughout the state. TEA will focus these trainings on grantee implementation of the new guidance requirements, rather than repeating the information shared at the statewide training. Each of the five cluster site trainings will cover the same content. Use the links to register directly with the following ESCs:

•    April 14, 2015 – ESC 17 (Lubbock)
•    April 16, 2015 – ESC 20 (San Antonio)
•    April 21, 2015 – ESC 10 (Richardson)
•    April 22, 2015 – ESC 7 (Kilgore)
•    March 27, 2015 – ESC 4 (Houston)

Statewide Conferences
TEA staff is also scheduled to present Uniform Guidance updates and information at the following statewide conferences:

•    Texas Council of Administrators of Special Education (TCASE) Great Ideas Convention 2015: February 25–27, 2015 (Austin)
•    Association for Compensatory Educators of Texas (ACET) 2015 Spring Conference: April 7–9, 2015 (Austin)

For Further Information
With any questions about registration for the statewide training, Uniform Guidance, or how the content of ESC cluster site trainings is different from the statewide training, please submit a request through the TEA Help Desk.
