RDSPD By the Numbers

  • 398 square miles
  • 387 Region 4 RDSPD Students
  • 9 cluster sites located across Houston and Pasadena ISDs
  • 51 certified teachers of the deaf
  • 9 years in operation
  • 3 classrooms devoted to students who are low-functioning deaf
  • 3 itinerant teachers of the deafblind
  • 3 nonmember charter schools

 

 

Program Goals

  • To enable every student supported by the Region 4 RDSPD to be a lifelong learner who is college and career ready
  • To provide exceptional administrative, instructional, and technical support specific to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in order to meet the needs of the Region 4 RDSPD’s member districts’ students, personnel, and families
  • To provide exceptional financial management through transparency, efficiency, and accountability in all our fiscal interactions with member and nonmember districts and charters
  • To serve as a trusted liaison for our member and nonmember districts and charters between educational agencies, districts, professionals, support staff, and communities
