Join us for a day of discovery and planning to maximize the use of the dramatic center in your classroom. In this training participants will learn how to plan dramatic play to reinforce content and language objectives. Attendees will receive resources for the dramatic center to utilize in different units of study throughout the year. Session materials and fees are covered by grant funds. REGISTER

 
 

Phonological Awareness FUN! Pk-1

Each step of the continuum will be explored with research and fun activities to support student learning in a high quality classroom. Differentiating instruction in the prekindergarten classroom seems almost impossible to accomplish due to the different levels of mastery and the individual differences in learning styles. In this training participants will use the prekindergarten guidelines to develop observational tools that guide instructional decisions for meeting the individual needs of students. Making Independent Work Jobs Meaningful for Students with Significant Intellectual Disabilities: Preschool
Early Childhood Special Education

Attend this training to learn the importance of teaching independent skills for preschoolers with significant intellectual disabilities. Strategies will include, the use of visual supports to increase independence, how to design and set up the tasks, considerations for materials to use, data collection methods, and addressing both functional and the academic core content areas. CIRCLE: Two-Day Preschool Early Language and Literacy Including Mathematics

Participate in the Early Language and Literacy training developed by the Children's Learning Institute, University of Texas Medical School in Houston. This training is based on recent scientific research, is interactive and provides hands-on activities which prekindergarten teachers can immediately implement in their classrooms. Each participant receives a manual containing resources that will help promote early language and early literacy development as well as mathematic skill development in young children. Training includes the following topics: Best Practices, Social Emotional Development, Phonological Awareness, Written Expression, Language Development, Book Reading, Letter Knowledge, and Mathematics.
