About the Presenters
Dr. Pedro Noguera, an acclaimed author, dynamic speaker, and distinguished professor of education at the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies at UCLA will deliver the keynote presentation. Dr. Noguera's work focuses on a broad range of issues related to education, social justice, and public policy.
He has published more than 200 research articles, monographs, and research reports on topics such as urban school reform, conditions that promote student achievement, the role of education in community development, youth violence, and race and ethnic relations in American society.
Steve Ventura, founder of Advanced Collaboration Solutions, is a highly motivational and knowledgeable speaker with expertise in leadership development, formative assessment, and curriculum design. He has inspired leaders across the nation to pursue higher levels of rigor, focus, and clarity.
All attendees will receive a copy of Noguera's book, Excellence Through Equity.
First-Year Assistant Principals Induction CohortJoin us for a leadership cohort designed to meet the requirements of TAC 241.25 for first-year assistant principals. Participants will take part in a mentor/new administrator orientation session, four cohort training sessions scheduled throughout the year focusing on designated hot topics, and customized professional development and coaching sessions designed to support leaders in making the transition to administrator during the crucial first year. These sessions are scheduled at cohort sites throughout the region with support provided throughout the critical first year.
