Klein ISD Board of Trustees Named Board of the Year

klein-boy-2024HOUSTON (June 27, 2024)—Klein ISD Board of Trustees has been selected as the Region 4 Board of the Year. Klein ISD has an 86-year history of excellence in education, and the seven-member Board of Trustees is an integral part of that success. They have demonstrated top-notch commitment to their students and to their community.

“Region 4 knows the hard work of school board members, and it is a pleasure to acknowledge and recognize the best in the region each year,” said Dr. Rodney Watson, executive director, Region 4 Education Service Center. “The Klein ISD Board of Trustees has much to be proud of for their outstanding leadership and for their dedication to the families in Klein.”

The Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) created the School Board Awards Program in 1971 to recognize school boards whose dedication and ethical service have made a positive impact on the schoolchildren of Texas. Each year, Texas school superintendents nominate their boards of trustees for this prestigious honor, and up to five honor boards go on to be considered for Outstanding School Board by TASA).

"This incredible team of dedicated leaders–all who are current or former Klein ISD parents and several who are Klein ISD graduates themselves–selflessly volunteer their time and talent to serve our schools and community,” Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “Their dedication and visionary leadership have profoundly and positively impacted our district, creating an environment where Klein ISD’s tradition of excellence in academics, the arts, and athletics continues to thrive.”

Klein ISD is a public school district serving approximately 54,000 students in northwestern Harris County, Texas. Klein ISD is a vibrant educational community, comprising five high schools, 10 intermediate schools, 33 elementary schools, one innovative high school program of choice, and an alternative school program.
