Instructional Coaching Options

Instructional coaching focuses on supporting learning growth and achievement of students by partnering with teachers to improve teaching and learning. Region 4 provides a variety of options to support your teachers through instructional coaching. Observation of the teacher’s lesson with feedback.

Remote Coaching

Full coaching cycle with the teacher recording a lesson and uploading it to a secure coaching workspace. This allows the teacher to review and reflect on the lesson. The coach and teacher then work together during a remote meeting to plan next steps.

Instructional Coaching

Full coaching cycle which includes initial teacher meeting and classroom visit to set coaching goals and then additional classroom visits to plan, coteach, and model to meet coaching goal.

Pre-observation and Observations

Setting Instructional Coaching Goals

Providing Models to Support Implementation of Coaching Goals

Teachers need to see effective instruction in action. Modeling is one way to show a teacher how to implement a specific strategy. By modeling lessons that make teaching and learning visible, coaches help teachers build a vision of effective instruction.
