Texas Instructional Leadership |
Texas Instructional Leadership (or TIL) is a one to two-year-long training program that includes cycles of face-to-face professional development for campus leadership teams and their principal supervisors on one to two of the following topics: Data-Driven Instruction, Observation Feedback, Student Culture Routines, Lesson Alignment, and/or Formative Assessment. In between each cycle, the ESC Specialist will provide implementation support and one-on-one coaching for the principal supervisor.
This program is most successful when the principal supervisor is fully committed and willing to coach or learn to be a coach, to principals. Also, campuses and districts tend to see more success when TIL is a prioritized program within the district, and when systems are in place to support implementation.
TIL is approved by the Texas Education Agency as a Vetted Improvement Program. For more information, see the Texas Instructional Leadership website.
Preview Session (school culture): A strong schoolwide culture that fosters a safe learning environment for students and staff goes beyond motivational speeches, rewards, or displayed values statements. Leading Schoolwide Culture with Intention, a TIL Pathway, supports administrators in developing a vision for each part of the school day and bringing their vision to light.
