Grow and Empower—Leadership Symposium 2023

Leaders attending the symposium will learn from key state and/or national speakers on current topics that are impacting our schools. In the spirit of leading with a growth mindset, the symposium is designed to increase leadership capacity and efficacy in leading schools that impact student achievement.

KEYNOTE PRESENTER
Dr. Jill Siler served as the Superintendent of Gunter ISD for nearly ten years and now serves as the Deputy Executive Director for Professional Learning for the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA). Jill grew up in Rochester & Buffalo, NY, and completed her undergraduate work at the University of Pittsburgh where she was a collegiate swimmer. She was a teacher and coach in Pflugerville ISD and began her administrative career at Marble Falls ISD. In 2004, Jill went to Lake Travis ISD where she served as a campus and district leader for 8 years. During that time, she completed her doctorate at the University of Texas. LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT—PROFESSIONAL LEARNING CALENDAR
Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS)
January 16–18, 2024 | Virtual Session
This is a 3-day training intended for current administrators who will be utilizing the T-TESS model to appraise teachers.
Completion of this training is one of the required steps to becoming a certified appraiser. Participants must also take and pass an online certification test annually. Additionally, participants must also attend/have attended either Instructional Leadership Development (ILD) or the new Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL) training in order to complete the required steps of becoming a certified appraiser and are encouraged to verify this information with their districts.
