State Accountability Interventions Released

The Texas Education Agency released information for districts, campuses, and charter schools with areas of Need Identified through the 2014 State Accountability System on Tuesday evening.  TEA correspondence identifies the actions which must take place by districts, campuses, and charter schools who are either:

  1. Improvement Required for 2014; or
  2. Failed to meet the performance target for one or more system safeguards.

In addition, campuses are required to engage in the TAIS (Texas Accountability Intervention System) process  if:
  1. Formerly Improvement Required (FIR) due to receiving an IR rating in 2013 and receiving a rating of Met Standard or Met Alternative Standard in 2014, or
  2. A priority or focus school under the USDE flexibility waiver.

Activities are listed, and TEA will be sending more information to district superintendents on the requirements depending on the number of years a district/campus/charter school has not met standard.
