Hi, I am Ginger Gates, and this is my first attempt at a blog (in response to persistent pressure). I am old enough that I remember when you sat on the porch or in the living room to share stories. Now it seems everything ends up on the World Wide Web! So here I go . . . putting my ponderings on the web.
First of all, you need to know that I am not a writer! I am just someone who is an observer of the world around me and tries to make sense of it. My primary goal of this blog is to support the hard work of the special education directors and educators who have dedicated their lives to support students with disabilities.
I hope this brings you a smile (or sometimes even a tear) but definitely encourages you to keep doing such an honorable job. In fact, I can’t think of a more important job than making a difference in the life of a child!
Ginger Gates, Ph.D., is currently the Director of Special Education at Region 4 Education Service Center in Houston, Texas. As a school psychologist in both Texas and Louisiana, she has dedicated her career, of over 30 years, to expanding opportunities for students with disabilities.
