One . . .
One tree can start a forest,
One smile can begin a friendship,
One hand can lift a soul,
One word can frame the goal,
One candle can wipe out darkness,
One laugh can conquer gloom,
One hope can raise our spirits,
And . . . one choice can change your life.
I saw this quote today and it made me think of you and the work that you do—educating students with disabilities. What if the last line was: One choice can change A life!
That describes what you do every day. You make choices, one at a time, hundreds a day, that have the potential to change the life of a child! Whether it is a staffing decision, the development of a new program, or bridging relationships with a parent—that one choice can have huge implications!
We are heading into the summer where there are many decisions to be made for the next school year. I challenge us all (me included) to see each decision point as critical, realizing the long-term impact for our students. No pressure, right? Just know that I have confidence in you!
